Sun & Fun 2016
USO Kaiserslautern’s Sun and Fun Day was full of liquid sunshine this year, but we didn’t let it put a damper on the fun. More than 1,600 people braved the weather to participate, with something for everyone: games, music, and of course, food.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwursts, and sides were served for lunch along with a big celebration cake topping off the day. The kids were also offered popcorn, cotton candy, and even a watermelon eating contest.
Some of the crowd favorites included a Segway course, Kiddie Train, balloon art, a football throw, water gun shooting gallery, and an obstacle course. We were even treated to a drop in visit by celebrity tattoo artists, Douglas Billian and James Vaughn, who assisted the Girl Scouts at their face painting booth. We are grateful to everyone who supported this great event, especially the more than 100 volunteers who made it all possible.
A special thank you to the U.S. Army Garrison Department of Emergency Services for bringing their National Day Out in partnership with Sun and Fun Day.
We would also like to thank our worldwide strategic partner, TKS, United Airlines, GEICO, Service Credit Union, Exchange Bakery, Culligan, Capri Sonne, Capitol Motors, MAS, Euler, and U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz MWR.
